On January 20th this country witnessed history with the induction of the 44th President Barrack Obama. An African American had been voted into the White House to guide our country. Another noteworthy point, was the fact that the country was in a bad way from one of the worst economic eras in American History. While these events have had an affect on the world at large to varying degrees, one portion of U.S. citizens have been deeply affected by the implications. Woman, and African American women in specific, have been profoundly struck by the imprint of the First Family and Michelle Obama. On the day of triumph, when she strode out on the stage to be by her husband, President-Elect Barack Obama’s side, women could not help but notice her poise, confidence and grace. She was an inspiration to all women; black, white or brown.  Michelle Obama exemplifies all that is virtuous of a woman and established person. She is a exquisite mother, a loving provider, plus a lawyer, executive, and public servant. A professional and home-loving achiever by leaps and bounds.

When she addresses the media, Michelle Obama urges women to reassert themselves, their intelligence, and family values. She encourages them to seek higher training in an attempt to assure improved employment. She is a beaming illustration of how a woman can manage parenthood along with other social obligations. (Her appointments by far exceeding that of most women on a daily basis). She is visual proof that woman can accomplish anything they put their minds to. She has been quoted as saying “…being a good mother isn’t all about sacrificing. It’s really investing and putting yourself higher on your priority list.”

A alumnus of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, Michelle Obama knows the importance of educational activity.  She avidly endorses President Barack Obama’s educational scholarship programs, (himself a recipient of different scholarships and student loans) and has cited reports from census bureau information that suggests greater education generally equals higher earning potential. In fact, before becoming the First Lady, Michelle Obama was vice-president of Community and External Affairs at the University of Chicago. Under her guidance, registration and participation of women in the community shot threw the roof. Quite naturally, many women followed in her footsteps and studied careers in the field of law.

In these unfavorable economical periods, there are a couple of sections of our economy poised for growth. Any area of law, and specifically, careers in criminal justice, will hold steadfast or experience growth at times of domestic fiscal hardships.  With less employment and opportunities to take advantage of, more individuals embrace to criminal offense.
